Mochi and Boba are a bonded pair of half-brothers who come as a set, and we’re looking for one very special home ready to take them both.

Mochi, 6 years old, is a bit of a homebody who’s happy to lounge indoors but comes alive outside, where he loves fetch and running full-tilt through the yard. He’s easygoing with people, settles in well wherever he goes, and loves nothing more than a good swim or a romp in the snow with Boba. Mochi has some lingering separation anxiety so he does best when he’s not left alone for long stretches, but with Boba by his side that’s rarely an issue. At 95 pounds, Mochi is food motivated to a fault, so you’ll want to manage mealtimes and keep those trash lids on tight. Mochi also loves car rides, which he’ll announce with a steady stream of yaps en route.

Boba, at 3 years old and 45 pounds, is the livelier and lighter half of the duo. Though he’s a little shy with new people at first, with a few pets and back scratches, he’ll be your best friend for life. Boba is a bigger fan of adventure, handling public outings, busy trails and crowd scenes with ease (particularly if Mochi comes along). Boba is toy-obsessed and, with a couple chewing incidents on his record, stays in his crate when the humans are out of the house.

Both dogs are good with cats and kids (though with less exposure to the latter), but decidedly not fans of loud noises such as thunder and fireworks.

There’s some occasional sibling rivalry that needs correction with a little scolding, such as when Mochi makes a play for Boba’s food or when Boba makes a play for Mochi’s toy. One thing to be aware of is that Mochi has taken issue with unneutered male dogs in the past and as such, opportunities for such encounters (such as dog parks) have been generally avoided. If that’s likely to be part of a new routine, some watchfulness and training is recommended.

For the right adopters, Mochi and Boba promise a full slate of Samoyed adventures and companionship: swimming, snow days, couch cuddles, and two big fluffy shadows who will never, ever want to be far from your side.
