Bear

We don’t know all the details of Bear’s personality because at 14 weeks old it’s still being formed!

We do know that Bear is full of energy and wants to regularly interact with people. He’s playful, social, and shows early signs of being trainable: He can already sit and shake on command.

He’s also a “typical Samoyed puppy” with all the associated behaviors: high energy, lots of zoomies, demands attention from his people, occasional play nips, and chewing interesting things within reach — all broken up by occasional naps to rest up for the next round.

Bear’s looking for a new forever home because his current family — after adopting him from a breeder out of state — came to the realization that “puppy life” proved to be more than they bargained for. They decided that Bear would do better in a home ready to remake itself around his puppy energy, and that it would be better to make that change sooner rather than later.

To help Bear on that journey, we’re looking for a forever home with Samoyed experience so that he can get the attention, structure, vet care and training he’ll need through those early stages of life on his path to adulthood. His adopter will also have to guide him through his neutering when he’s of age (between 18 months and 2 years) as a contractual obligation of adoption (which will require a refundable $500 deposit in addition to the adoption fee).

What else do we know about Bear?

He’s reasonably good with being left home alone on occasion: He’ll bark a bit but even with free range of the house, he leaves things in good order.

He has not yet had a lot of interaction with other dogs, and when he sees them around the neighborhood, he’s both intrigued and cautious at the same time.

He’s going to interrupt your Zoom calls with some zoomies.

He loves Tug of War. If you adopt Bear, you’re going to be playing a lot of Tug of War.
