“Love bug” and “cuddle bunny” are terms that come up frequently when describing Belle LaRose, a sweetheart of a Samoyed who has already picked her foster mom as her favorite person, but is happy to receive attention and affection from anyone who has it to offer. She’s easy to have around, respectful in her communication (she whines rather than barks when she needs something), and she is absolutely ready to be someone’s very best buddy.
Belle is an affectionate dog, and seems most happy in a familiar environment. She has never once attempted to get out of the yard, even with just a 4′ fence, and chosen under the bed as her safe space when thunderstorms roll through. She had a little back-and-forth with the resident cats early on, but the two sides have since come to an understanding.
Belle is eager to please, but also untrained. She does not know basic commands, and can dart on a leash, especially if a tempting critter catches her eye. She’d benefit greatly from an early round of training on adoption. Belle is also carrying some anxiety, particularly outside the home environment. From her POV, those passing dogs on the daily walk might be playmates or might be threats. She may greet strangers with enthusiasm then wariness. Essentially, she’s unsure. A steady, stable home that’s attentive and dialed into her needs to help her grow her comfort zone will help her find her footing.
