Meet Finley!

This handsome 18-month-old male Samoyed is ready to find his forever home!

Finley is affectionate, playful, and full of personality. He adores his people, loves a good cuddle, and is always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war.

Finley is fantastic with grooming appointments and behaves beautifully for baths, brushing, and nail trims (he sees a professional groomer regularly). He walks well on leash and sleeps through the night like a champ.

True to his breed and age, Finley is high-energy and still working through some adolescent behaviors. He’s had professional training and is eager to please, but he’ll need more time, maturity, and consistency before everything sticks. He’s still prone to chewing (especially wood trim when bored), barking, and—like many dogs—snacking on things he shouldn’t in the yard (yes, that includes poop).

He does well with dogs his size and enjoys rough-and-tumble play like Frisbee tug-of-war, but his energy can be overwhelming for more mellow pups. He has a strong fixation on small dogs and struggles to leave them alone, even with training. For this reason, we don’t recommend a home with small dogs, cats, or small animals. He’s also likely to chase wildlife, like bunnies or squirrels.

Finley does great when meeting kids on walks, but his exuberance may be too much for young children in an off-leash setting. He’s had some mild crate anxiety, but with time and a structured routine, he’s likely to settle in well.

Finley would thrive in an active home with:

• A securely fenced yard where he can safely run off energy
• A confident owner experienced with northern or working breeds
• Daily vigorous exercise—he walks 4+ miles now, but could benefit from running or structured play
• Either being the only dog or having a large, energetic canine companion who can match his play style
