Gus
Available to adopt
June 18, 2025
Gus was found in Quincy, Washington, abandoned and dirty, but somehow maintaining a sunny disposition through it all.
Once we got him fostered, neutered and groomed, he really began to shine, but truth be told, he was a charmer right from his first day out of the shelter: making quick friends with his temporary Samoyed housemates and with any humans he happened to cross paths with. His favorite perks seem to be attention, proximity and regular grooming.
Gus is 4 years old and those early years have left him with some challenges. He’s prone to separation anxiety, he’s not a huge fan of his crate, and there were some marking incidents early in his time with us (since resolved with neutering and a more predictable schedule). In addition, his overtures to engage with any cats he’s sharing space with are — shall we say — “over-direct” from a feline point of view.
Given that Gus is both high energy and relatively untrained, an experienced owner that can provide him a lot of presence and structure would be the best fit for a forever home. With those ingredients, however, Gus’s inherent sweetness will continue to shine as he becomes an appreciative and enthusiastic contributor to his new forever home.
