Ralph

“Big teddy bear” is mentioned a lot when people describe Ralph. He’s a friendly, personable, easygoing dog who we expect will do well just about anywhere.

His foster family reports that he’s great with people, other dogs, and even their grumpy cat. He’s clearly had training in the past, as he knows lots of commands. His foster was also amazed at how fast he got to the “roll over and pet my belly” phase of his stay as well.

Ralph is also always game for a walk, and gets very excited when the leashes make an appearance. He is generally a fan of being outside, to the point where some of that trademark Samoyed stubbornness can emerge when it’s time to come in from the yard.

Ralph was surrendered to Northwest Samoyed Rescue when his owner encountered medical issues and could no longer care for him. Ralph does evidence some separation anxiety, and while that’s been improving, it will likely re-emerge for a bit as he adjusts to his forever home.

Another consideration for any potential adopter: Ralph’s coat is no joke, thick and dense even by Samoyed standards. Regular grooming, including daily maintenance, will be a must.
