Tofu

Tofu is a bright, affectionate, and endlessly charming boy with the classic Samoyed spirit — joyful, social, and full of energy. He’s always up for a walk (and can often outlast his dog friends), but he’s just as content to hang out at home with his people. Inside, Tofu is calm and respectful. He rarely barks unless he’s trying to tell you something important, like it’s dinner time or that walk you promised.
He’s friendly with people and other dogs, does well in boarding and daycare, and has earned high marks from both his veterinarian and groomer. He enjoys car rides, walks nicely on a leash (though he can pull when something smells really interesting), and adapts to a routine with ease. Tofu hasn’t lived with cats or very young children, but his gentle, adaptable temperament suggests he’d do well in a variety of homes.
Tofu is smart and a bit of a problem-solver — if a gate isn’t secure, he’ll figure that out quickly! He loves to “talk,” play chase, and be part of the action, but he’s never pushy or rough.

A Special Note About His Health
Tofu has a diagnosed seizure condition (idiopathic grand mal seizures). He experiences cluster seizures — typically three within 24 hours — about once a month. His current treatment plan includes daily medication and a “cluster buster” prescription to help manage episodes. He recently began a new medication combination, and his veterinarians are optimistic that this will reduce the frequency of seizures to just a few times a year.
It’s essential that Tofu’s new family commit to maintaining his medication schedule at the same exact time every day. Consistency is key to keeping his seizures under control and supporting his overall well-being. Missing or delaying doses can increase the risk of an episode, so his ideal home will be one where his routine can stay steady and reliable.
With proper management and care, Tofu can continue to live a full, happy, and active life — he just needs an owner who understands that his health depends on that consistency.
The Right Home for Tofu
Tofu would do best in a home where someone can give him attention, consistency, and love — and where his health needs are taken seriously. He’d thrive with adopters who are home enough to monitor him, keep up his medication schedule, and give him the exercise and companionship he craves.
His previous family made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him only because their own health made it impossible to provide the level of care he needs. They described him as a “bright, loving part of our lives.”
If you’re looking for a loyal, joyful companion — and you’re ready to give a little extra care to a dog who will give you endless love in return — Tofu might just be the one for you.
