October 2025 Rescue Report
As we move into a new season, we wanted to take a moment to share what’s been happening behind the scenes at Northwest Samoyed Rescue. It’s been a busy few months filled with happy endings, heartwarming progress, and exciting steps toward growing our volunteer team.
Soul Finds His Forever Home

We’re so happy to share that Soul, our gentle 7-year-old sweetheart, has found his forever family! This easygoing boy won hearts with his calm nature, love of fetch, and joyful spirit. He’s now off on new adventures, bringing smiles to the people lucky enough to call him theirs.
Laika Is Still Looking for Her Match

If you’ve been following our updates, you may remember Laika, a 5-year-old female who came to us when her owner was deployed overseas. She’s been thriving in her Oregon foster home, turning into an affectionate, happy, people-loving girl.
Laika loves to shadow her person through daily life (yes, even to the kitchen and bathroom), enjoys car rides, and gets along well with other dogs. She’s looking for a home that can give her structure, companionship, and maybe a backyard to explore. Laika would do well as the only dog or with calm canine friends, and while she can be vocal when left alone, she’s made wonderful progress settling into a routine.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will greet you with tail wags and endless affection, Laika may be your girl. Click the button to read her full bio, and reach out if you think you might be her perfect match.
Growing Our Volunteer Program
We’ve been so encouraged by the recent interest from people who want to get involved! Over the past few weeks, we’ve met with several potential volunteers who are eager to contribute their time and talents, from fostering and transport to administrative help and outreach.
We’re now taking the next steps toward formalizing our volunteer program to make it easier for people to get involved and for us to match their skills with our rescue’s needs. If you’ve ever wanted to help Samoyeds in need, stay tuned — there will soon be more ways than ever to join our mission.
Looking Ahead
In the coming weeks, we’ll be welcoming a few new dogs into rescue, so keep an eye on our page for updates. Each dog comes with a unique story, and with your continued support, through donations, shares, and volunteer hours, we can keep giving them the second chances they deserve.
